Flora delanica

One of my Amazon recommended reads is a book I stumbled across relatively recently, and whilst not a floristry book in the strictest sense, has been a brilliant source of inspiration. In a society that seems so entranced and fixated on youth, it is comforting to take Mary Delaney as an example that everyone follows their own timeline and path, and if this path should happen to begin at 72, all the better!

If you're passing the British Museum, you should pop in and see some of her collages, definitely some food for thought..

Summer

My latest obsessions....

Simple and elegant Posy incorporating wax flower made up for a gift

Pastel dreams

I do find being a florist that once you start working with a certain palette, you become obsessed, I have a feeling that August will continue to have a dreamy, melancholic pallette, maybe it's to do with the films I keep watching.....

Deliciously edible shades for a posy

Soothing shades of ice cream and summer are evoked in my latest favourite arrangement........

Next step I think is to make some ice cream cones of pistachio, violet and rose coloured flowers for a summer picnic in the park.....

P.S My first ever blog post!!! Oh the excitement....!
